Soccer finals

This was the 4th time that MJC is meeting VJC in the A Division Finals...

Fazli leading the team out

Group shot before the match

Fazli being congratulated after scoring the equalizer...

Joseph celebrating after scoring the second goal to put MJ in the driving seat...

Edmund suffering from a knock on his head...

Fazli with his back hurting after a collision with a VJC player

But what I felt was the highlight of the match was the sportmanship displayed by our players. They, without hesitation, went to the aid of the VJC players stricken with cramps.

So even though the match was lost but there weren't any losers.

Coach gathering his players to encourage them

Our most faithful diehard fan

Khair congratulating a VJC player

MJC still rapturing with cheers in support of our boys

Finally, the people behind the photos...

It's here.

Studio Days 2 is here.

This event needs no introduction (I lazy to introduce la, okay?) where photographers get to shoot whatever they want with the club's lights (YEAH, let's rock brothers Jinbei and Abei!) for three days. What's more, your dear dear dear Eunice and Junsen will be here to help you handle the lights so you can get the perfect shot.

WHEN?
The SD2 will last three days, 15,16 and 18th June 2009. (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, 9am - 5pm)

In each day, we will concentrate on three different genres:

Monday - Mini models / Still life
Tuesday - Portraiture
Wednesday - Break (<--- this is not abstract, it means I need to sleep....)
Thursday - Water Sculpture
Friday - Reserved/Buffer

AM I ELIGIBLE TO SIGN UP?
Basically as long as you is/are/was/were a MJC Photography Club member (who hasn't been barred from entering the clubroom), you're allowed to sign up.

HOW?
Thanks to technology, you may do your bookings through email.
Each person is entitled up to 2 hours per day, and you're allowed to pair/group up with your friends who are shooting with you. Just like consultation. Choose a slot that's convenient for you, and email me [macingrouch@gmail.com] the day and time, and I'll update who has booked when on the calendar below so all of you will be able to check for availability.

Just submit your name (first and last name please), year (J1/J2/Alumni), preferred time (e.g. 9am to 10am), date (e.g. 15th June) and contact number (I'll protect this from the perverts, unless otherwise stated :P).
To check whether your slots have been booked, click on the "Week" tab during the 3rd week of June labelled Studio Days 2.

Alternatively, you can also email me saying you would like to stay for the whole day (to shoot or observe), but what you shoot depends on what the photographers are shooting.

WHAT TO BRING?
You're required to bring your own props and/or models (and whatever you need). Junsen and I will not dress up and stand there to get shot by you guys, so please do plan what you want to shoot with care, and we'll help you with the lights.

For those who intend to do water sculptures, if you anticipate that there'll be a mess, please bring whatever is needed to protect our clubroom to keep it clean.

EQUIPMENT LEH?
This, please book with your lovely Quartermaster Samantha.

This is a good chance to learn the physics of studio photography, so don't miss this amazing opportunity. If we have overwhelming response, we'll open up Friday for shooting as well.

For any enquiries, you're welcome to email Eunice Chan at macingrouch@gmail.com.

My Top Ten GAAHHHH!s

Since it's been rather quiet and my chewrens seem quite stressed with schoolwork, here's something to entertain you =)

I believe some of us can relate to some of these Top Ten things that irritate me LOL things we can't really control that can spoil our pics (or we can't get our desired effect). sometimes we can work that to our advantage but at times we just sigh and trash it =P

10. Want to shoot grass etc. with motion but wait wait wait got no wind. you don't want to try to blow hard hard -.- (then bopian shoot still lor LOL)OR Want to shoot macro of flower but there's this breeze that keeps blowing (then shoot motion lor)
9. Want to shoot landscape but sky grey grey -.-
8. Sun is too strong and in the wrong direction your subjects are all in the shadow(then shoot silhouette lor. this could work well in some cases) and CANNOT see the image in the LCD screen AT ALL
7. Want to take candid shot the subjects are either v shy so cover their faces with hair/hands/programme booklet/handbag etc or are camwhores start to pose with V sign
-.-|||
6. At the moment you click, someone's big ass, amputated arm or decapitated head pops in (this happens a lot during sports... referees are the usual culprits. can try to crop but sometimes they just block the subject... sighs)
5. A LOT (YES! A LOT A LOT!) of flies (this happens in summer in Australia) flies in your mouth, flies in your nostrils, flies in your ear. you will breathe in and hear flies... (in this case, draping a jacket over your head will help... if need demo on how this is done, ask PPC) try to clone away that lone fly in your photo if possible.

4. There is no "No Photography" sign but you shoot already someone in uniform (like security or police) come and say "No Photography Allowed" and asks you to delete your photos. in this case, act blur, say sorry and RUN! if you use film then say sorry can't delete LOL but don't try shooting when it's not allowed la... wait get caught.
3. At the moment you click, the subject blinks. AAHHH!
2. Travel to outdoor location armed with everything (camera, lens, filters, cable release, tripod and loads of excitement) then kring krong RAIN! >.<

and the top spot goes to... *drum roll*
1. Shoot halfway mirror drop out (this one you will cry...)

PHOTOG!

Finally Ivan's group : Ivan, Cheng Boon, Ayesha, Khushboo, Wan Yeng, Abigail, Paul and Cally went for the first outing last Saturday, 16 May 2009. Our intention was to take photos for MONTAGE 2009, whose theme is EXCITE. Here are our outings photos we would like to share with you all. Enjoy!

Dark Friday

Hello Fellow Photographers

Its a rainy Friday. All of us, are upset, dead, tired, gloomy, remorsed, dead. We were suppose to have an exciting outing together, unfortunately the rain and ruined the mood. Cleaning the room was tiring.  It was extremely messy and untidy. Disorganised. Along with our OCD (mostly Shruthi) we HAD to clean the room.

J1s, PLEASE PLEASE submit ALL your photos by Monday!! Those who didn't submit your pictures you are going to... MUHAHAHA (Evil Laugh)

Love,

Finally Done

Hello Fellow Photographers.
On Friday, some of the J1s put up the photos for the TTL exhibition. Oh goodness gracious me, all the hard work paid off. It was extremely hot (supernova!!) at the staircase and all of us were scattered ar
ound to get the pictures up. It was all worth it. Now as you walk up the staircase, you can view the beautiful pictures takes by our very own J1s. Its really nice, good job guys! Honestly, I was afraid the fishing twine/string/net/thing wouldn't work as it was really thin. However everything turned out well. With this, we hope all future exhibitions are gonna be awesome! Check out the video, and the pictures! Oh and for the J1s who didn't turn up I have submitted your names to Mr Cheng! MUAHAHA. Okay I am kidding, please help out next time! :)

Woo.

Tying the knots carefully!!

Erfi and the poster he designed, good job!

Ivan!

Elliot, amazed..

Lastly. A Moment Unforgettable :)

Thanks Ms Koh for the pictures :)

Chinese Garden Outing

Yippee ! Another Alumni Outing successfully organized :) This time its Journey to the West to Chinese Garden (which is actually the East....). Despite super hot weathers and lack of deserts stalls which the J1s crave for, we all had fun and its a great learning experience. Going to gardens after gardens after gardens......., we shot many nice pics of the foliage and the Landscape and of course each other.( Chin Chye pls post the pics !)

For those who did not manage to make it for the outing, heres some pics to show you what we were shooting. ( Those who went, pls post your pics :) )

Enjoy :)

And finally Aditi and her new husband !
