Since Grouch posted a long wordy post, I shall follow up on a picture post cum mini lesson:P Anyway.. since prom night is coming up soon, and for those of you who are thinking of going in without a flash, think again... Last year I shot without a flash, and it was a nightmare... Even with a f/2.8 lens, your DOF is just too freaking shallow...at most, you can only stop down to f/4. By then, your shutter speed would have dropped to 1/30-1/15 sec and I was shooting ISO 400 film pushed to 1600 a.k.a. ISO 1600 la..(okies.. I shot at 1600 can? can? can?) sheesh.. Now even with trained hands, the problem is not hand shake...its more with moving subjects. Your subjects are moving around, even little things like sway their body abit or turn around all affects sharpness at 1/30 sec. So it was just damn tough waiting for that perfect moment when everyone stood still and stopped moving..and sometimes they never stop. Gah! Anyway, some photos for you to view...
